Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") supplements the Terms of Service and sets out what is and is not permitted when using ReviewMix.

We wrote this policy to be clear rather than exhaustive. If something you want to do sits in a grey area, email privacy@reviewmix.eu and we will give you a plain answer.

1. Principles

ReviewMix is a tool for collecting and displaying genuine customer testimonials. Use of the service should be:

• Honest — testimonials you collect and display should be real
• Consented — submitters should know what they are agreeing to, and their consent should be respected
• Lawful — complying with applicable law in every jurisdiction where you operate
• Respectful — of submitters, of other users of ReviewMix, and of our infrastructure

2. Prohibited content

You may not collect, approve, display, or transmit through ReviewMix any content that:

• Is unlawful under the law of your jurisdiction, Romania, or the European Union
• Infringes intellectual property rights including copyrights, trademarks, or rights of publicity
• Defames or harasses any identifiable person
• Contains hate speech or promotes violence against any group
• Sexualizes minors in any way — zero tolerance, zero grey area
• Contains malware, exploits, or abusive code of any kind
• Is deceptive — for example, fake testimonials, AI-generated testimonials presented as real, or testimonials for a product the submitter never used

3. Prohibited practices

You may not:

Collection

• Collect testimonials from people who have not been given clear information about how their submission will be used
• Collect testimonials through false pretences (for example, surveys that hide the fact that responses will be published)
• Offer material compensation in exchange for positive testimonials without disclosure
• Collect testimonials from minors under 16 without verifiable parental consent

Processing

• Use the service to process special categories of data under GDPR Art. 9 (health, political opinions, biometric data for identification, etc.) without a specific legal basis that you have documented
• Use the service to process data of people located in jurisdictions where you do not have a lawful basis to do so

Display

• Alter a submitted testimonial in a way that changes its meaning
• Display a testimonial for a use (such as paid advertising) that the submitter did not consent to
• Continue displaying a testimonial after the submitter has withdrawn consent
• Use testimonials in a way that misleads consumers about the nature, characteristics, or suitability of products or services (this may violate consumer protection law regardless of the submitter's consent)

Technical

• Scrape, crawl, or automate access to parts of ReviewMix not made available for that purpose
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract source code from our widget or application beyond what is permitted by law
• Probe, test, or circumvent security measures
• Overload the service deliberately or use it in a way that degrades performance for other users
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any account, system, or data
• Circumvent plan limits by creating multiple free accounts for what is effectively one user

Abuse of process

• Send abusive, threatening, or harassing messages to ReviewMix staff
• Misrepresent your identity or affiliation when communicating with us
• File fraudulent refund claims, chargebacks, or legal complaints

4. AI-generated content

ReviewMix is a testimonial platform. Testimonials are, by nature, statements from real people about their real experience. AI-generated testimonials presented as human are prohibited.

This does not prohibit:

• Using AI tools to help correct grammar or spelling in a real person's testimonial (with their consent)
• Translating a real testimonial with AI assistance (with appropriate disclosure)

5. Enforcement

If we become aware of a violation, we may take any of the following actions:

• Contact you for clarification
• Remove specific content that violates this AUP
• Suspend your account pending investigation
• Terminate your account for serious or repeated violations
• Report unlawful content to appropriate authorities
• Cooperate with legal process and lawful investigations

For most violations we will attempt to contact you first and give a reasonable opportunity to address the issue. We reserve the right to act immediately without prior notice for violations that pose imminent harm, including security threats, illegal content, or fraud.

6. Reporting violations

If you believe content on a site using ReviewMix violates this AUP, contact us at support@reviewmix.eu. Include:

• The URL where the content appears
• A description of the alleged violation
• Your contact information

We investigate reports within 3 business days. We do not publish reporters' identities, and we do not share reports with the reported party except as necessary for investigation or compliance with law.

7. Changes

We may update this AUP. Material changes take effect 30 days after notification to active customers. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
